THE SHORT ANSWER

Customer payments can have a Paystack processing fee and a Waabot platform fee. They are separate. A 0% Waabot fee does not remove Paystack’s processing charge.

SEE IT SIMPLY

EXAMPLE · BOTH FEES DEDUCTED FROM THE PAYMENT
Customer pays₦10,000
Waabot at 2%− ₦200
Paystack local fee− ₦250
Remainder₦9,550

Illustration only. Check your configured rate, fee bearer and payment record.

Before you begin

A shop owner manages payments. Connecting your own Paystack account requires a paid plan.

01Check your payment setup

  1. Select the right workspace and open Settings → Payments.

  2. Check the available payment setup and its platform fee. New setups default to 2%, but your configured rate can differ, including 0%.

  3. If connecting your own Paystack account, use the connection controls shown there and complete the provider checks. Do not send credentials to support chat.

  4. Check the payment status and payout details shown in your own provider account.

  5. Before promoting your shop, confirm the customer checkout and payment result in a suitable test setup.

02Follow the money

Example only: a customer pays ₦10,000. If the Waabot fee is 2%, that part is ₦200. Paystack’s published standard Nigerian local fee would be ₦250 at that amount. If both are deducted from this payment, the remainder is ₦9,550 before any other applicable adjustments. Your actual rate and fee-bearing setup can differ.

03Check Paystack’s current rate

For standard Nigerian local transactions, Paystack currently lists 1.5% plus ₦100, capped at ₦2,000. The ₦100 part is waived below ₦2,500. International payments and special account arrangements can have different rates. Use the official pricing page for your account.

Delivery charges and advertising spend are separate. Your Waabot subscription is also separate from order processing fees.

04After a customer pays

  1. Open Orders and check the payment status.

  2. Match the order to its payment record before fulfilling it.

  3. If payment is pending, wait for verification. A customer screenshot alone is not confirmation.

  4. Use your provider account and support for a payment that remains unresolved.

A little extra help

Why did I receive less than the product price?

Compare the payment record, processing fee and configured platform fee. Check who bears each fee.

Does marking an order cancelled refund the money?

Do not assume it does. Check the provider payment record and complete the actual refund through the supported payment process.
